How much does adults underestimate child and teenagers opinions? Adora Svitak, an activist, speaker and US writer thinks the world needs fearless ideas, wild creativity and above all, education.

In order to understand Universidad del Norte’s role at the Atlantic Coast, Svitak tests its director, Adolfo Meisel Roca. Sebastian Yatra, hosts this encounter which tries to open opportunities for a new leaders generation with great ideas and for which educations is a priority.

When she was 6, her mother gave her her first computer. Two years later she became a writer.

She used to type up to 80 words per minute and then she published Flying Fingers, her first storybook. When she was 12, she participated on TED, giving one of the most viewed and translated speeches of all the time, and then, with the publication of two books, Dancing Fingers and Yang in Disguise, her cause for a sustainable and equitative education became more popular

Adora Svitak thinks the world would be a better place if adults discriminate less and listen more to minors. For that reason she highlights the importance of literacy, activism as a propeller of change and high quality education and a tool for empowerment of young voices.

Now at her 21 years, this american centennial continues working as a writer, speaker and activist. She has dedicated to passionate children to let the world know their own ideas because as young people learn from adults, adults shouldn’t underestimate their capabilities.

His intellectual placidity has led him to be one of the most prolific researchers in the Colombian Caribbean.

For his performance as an economist, doctor, professor, as well for his experience at the Banco de la República’s head of directors, Adolfo Meisel Roca became director of the Universidad del Norte, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the country for its contributions to quality education that has resonated internationally.

He is one of the most educated men in the Caribbean

Meisel’s publications and numerous investigations about economic, social and political history of the region have allowed him to develop a peculiar sense to identify the main problems of the most needy areas. That’s why Meisel thinks that to achieve stability, Colombia needs a correct monetary policy as well as growth based on education.
